Better waste system

Better waste system

Garbage bags in the street are not only harmful to the environment, but it is also aesthetically unappealing, especially when cats or other animals tear them up at night only to find a nice surprise in front of our doors in the morning. Other countries have a waste system where households and blocks of flats collect the waste in waste containers and the collection of such occurs once every few days. As a result you reduce the amount of waste laying in the streets and an organized collection.

We had a Pilot system that uses Garbage bags made of corn starch bags in 1998 but the Government shut us down. The Pilot project was going to be in Hamrun. Anything i presented to the Gov lead by Dr. Zammit Dimech was rejected.
