New roads should carry a maintenance agreement

Road tenders should include a maintenance agreement by the same contractor for a number of years. This will naturally ensure that the road is built to high standards so that the contractor keeps maintenance to a minimum. And we citizens get a better quality road network!

To establish a means to keep the road in good working order, a positive for both tenderer and contracting authority. Then ultimately, the road users are assured that there is redress for faulty work and an enforceable means to keep the roads in good condition, and a better use of taxpayers money.
