I personally believe that more employers should be encouraged to implement flexi-time. Such system would not simply help young families in achieving a work-life balance (especially women) but also help in reducing traffic during peak hours. Thus it would be beneficial for the government to encourage such system by introducing tax benefits, tax credits/grants to companies who implement such system or subsidize any implementation costs.
This is definitely a must in today's society where a lot of jobs need not be limited to fixed locations or fixed time. Time spent in traffic is time lost from family for a lot of people. We need to start valuing this lost time more.
