Introduce a system where new voters are allowed to vote at 16, only becoming eligible to vote after attending a short lecture/course about the Maltese voting system and briefly about how the Maltese government and local councils operate. This will help educate the population on how the system actually works, enabling them to form a better opinion when electing candidates to parliament.
This should be part of the school curriculum.
