Push towards separation of public funding for education (at all levels) and the autonomous administration of the institutions themselves. Government should fund education, but not be the one setting policy and executing it. Let standards and outcome expectations be set by the individual schools, colleges and universities, based on the specialised needs and specialist resources available in particular institutions.
