Because of the high cost of postage/shipping parcels out of Malta, Maltese businesses can never really be competitive in online selling of products through e-commerce. Perhaps some form of subsidized transport could be introduced through a national hub system created specifically for this purpose in mainland Europe. This hub could be set up by the businesses collectively and operated on a not-for-profit basis with some government support.
