Increase national funding for Research

The Research Budget for Malta has remained fixed at Eur 1.6 M annually for many years whilst Areas of Research are on the rise. Government support is needed for basic and applied research as well as gaining access to further external funding opportunities through collaborative research opportunites, with non-EU Countries as well as through Public Private Partnerships. This will prevent brain drain as well as boost the Maltese Economy through attracting quality Researchers to Malta.

There is a dire need for more high quality research in Malta. Malta can become a hub for research!

Yes! Research fosters innovation and innovation is key for any entity to develop successfully!
