transport is a significant polluter in Australia. Far more people would cycle if it was safe. this would ease traffic congestion and improve health. A proper cycleway is not simply some paint on the pavement or road. Very cheap to implement and would make our area much more liveable.
Fantastic idea. Although cheap for users, I would suggest investing properly into infrastructure from a government level is important. I believe from my bike to work friends that Sydney has some historic weird rules about roads though which also lessen cyclists rights, and the ability of councils to put in the infrastructure. Once up and running local representatives on all levels should ensure "getting around our area" information is on or linked on area websites
Also added health and wellbeing benefits for people. Sedentary lifestyle is a killer. Australia has very high rates of diabetes
