To encourage the elderly to keep living in their homes and in ther communities, the €300 yearly allowance given to elderly people who remain in their own homes after turning 75 will be increased to €500. In the case of couples the allowance will be given to both men and women. This increase will be enjoyed by more than 27,800 people and will lead to an increase of €5.5M in their income).
People are rarely happy in old people's homes. Any support would help postpone such a move until it can no longer be avoided.
